Hi,
Its a co-ax, like CT100 with a steel centre core & copper coated, foam filled with a foil wrap.

I believe they use wf100 cable, instead of RG6. They might use CT100 though!

Actually, I just went on eBay and looked for prices. There is a listing that says wf100 ct100, which may indicate that they are the same thing
Theres also wf65 cable that costs more RG6 is your cheapest cable you can find. WF100 costs roughly double what RG6 costs

Yeah I suppose it would work, but VM themselves use better quality cable than aerial and RG6. When I split a line off, I used some wf100 cable, a coaxial stripper, two F connectors and a T splitter(the t splitter was for a) efficiency and b) it looked nice)
If you want "the cable that VM use" then get some wf100. If you want something that does the job, then get an aerial cable, but personally Id say get RG6 instead. If you want real good quality cable, have a look at wf65 cable. Its expensive at £100 for 250m or 40p/metre(probably 80p/metre if you just want the couple)

CT100 or RG6 are both better quality than VM install cable, as VM's has a copper coated centre core. pure copper is always better.
