Default What satellites?

Just out of interest what satellites do people watch here? Ill probably be scanning in popular satellites, as long as they're in english or urdu(not for me) lol.

Another question, when connecting box's up to the net, is it possible to download bouquets with adult channels missing?

Hi mate glad to hear that Rick has got you sorted. I mostly watch Thor 1W for the football, but that will not last much longer as you know they are going to N3 soon. 26E is a very good sat for FTA stuff and has one FTA HD sports channel on it and several other FTA sports channels, but they mostly show Arab football and bloody tennis, shich I hate. Each bird has it's own merits and drawbacks.

If you download a settings file and open it with DreamboxEdit you can edit out the naughty stuff from it, before you send it to the box. When you have it edited don't forget to save the edited settings over the old one to be sure that if you need to load it again you will not have to re edit it before sending it to the box. If you download a settings file directly to the box, open it with the same software and edit it and then save the edited file to somewhere on your laptop/PC so you will have it for again.

Not sure about the Urdu channels, if you will forgive me my ignorance, all those sound the same to me and I would not have a clue about which would be which. A lot of the big providers have got the opportunity to watch a film in it's original language or whatever they have it dubbed into. A fair few of the Arabic channels on 26E show films in English. See the screen grab for the best free ones in English.

If you are after Urdu/Hindi channels, then just stick to Astra 2 @28E,as there's very little elsewhere, that is Free To Air.
Something also to remember with Free to Air satellite receivers,is that frequencies change quite often, and without warning.
So your mum may wake up one morning, switch on to watch B4U Movies and instead she finds Eurotic tv for example.
Also remember, mainland Europe,is not tightly controlled like the UK,so you are more likely to be exposed to more explicit material, during the day.
Also another trend with European channels is that they timeshare with adult channels,so during the day,you might have a channel, which is suitable for family viewing, but then the same channel, will then shows adult content,in the evening.
I would kindly suggest for your household, you also invest in a Sky digibox,if you have an existing minidish,if not opt for the FreesatfromSky option, for the cheapest solution.
That way,you can remove all adult channels, and have no issues such as frequency changes, which can result in nasty shocks for your household.

Yup, I guessed that its going to go secure some time. The channels I was really wanting was
sports for my dad
movies possibly for me
Asian channels for my mum
Islamic channels during Ramadan and my dad likes them
English entertainment, but I knew I was not going to get that lol

Thanks. Currently very annoyed at my Linksys router. I was going to bridge a Linksys router with my Belkin, but its being plain annoying at the moment lol

I thought that may be the issue with some of the replies I got. The alphabet is very similar, except in the urdu(well and the persian) alphabet you get a P, which is non existent in arabic, hence why lots of Arabs cant pronounce their P's lol. I thought someone who knows the different eastern languages may have been able to help here[/QUOTE]

That is quite a big issue actually. I think what Ill do is get one of them diplexers and at night, from my room, move the dish back to 28E to prevent such things from happening.

That is another issue in itself. Hopefully I can block them all!

I suppose this is the same for one UK channel ie: Virgin 1, so this one isnt that big an issue as others are.

Wouldnt me moving the dish from my room(using a diplexer as I only have a VM cable line coming through) be good enough to move the dish back to 28E? Is it not also possible for you to put a timer on the receiver to move itself to a certain channel at a certain time, moving the motor with it?

Sorry, a bit of a noob to the sat side, but whats a "crontab?" I know what webgui means though, so Im not a total idiot!

Or unless your saying move the receiver using a computer/laptop via IP address? Ive done that before. Well I did it for my cousin(until he bought a remote) who has my receiver at the moment! A PLI image was loaded at the time
