Default Dbox shutting down by itself

Hi

Over the past week my dbox 2 has been acting very strange as in it's been shutting itself down without me touching it sometimes as much as six times a night

Everytime it shuts itself down I'll start it up again and it stays on anything between 1 minute up to hours before it shuts down again

Does anyone know what's going on with it ?

Cheers

Sounds like your PSU is on its way out.

Thanks , I've had it around 3 years so not exactly a newbie with it but don't know what the ' psu ' is , any advice would be appreciated

I thought it might've beena timer issue as well but I've owned it for all these years and have never once timed anything on it

Reflashing it tonight so I'll post how it went after testing for a few hours ( fingers crossed it works that long ) in case it helps anyone else out

I've seen all the usual dbox problems over the years but this is a new one on me !

Putting on a new picture STILL hasn't rectified the shutting down by itself problem so it looks like it maybe IS the psu on the way out so looks like time for a new dbox

Dont waste your money - Nagra 3 will be all over the uk in a matter of weeks, and at that point its only use will be for the main psb channels.

Might be worth removing the lid and clearing out all the dust. If it's a Sagem, try removing the plug in modem, it will then run cooler and may be more stable.
