hi been trying to get bk and ird from sammy all day but keeps saying target communication error blah blah blah can anyone help pleeze its doing my head in now

sounds like your jtag is not wired up to the box correctly m8 or there may be some bridgeing with the points...
Make sure theres no solder bridges between points and also check that ur using the right points for jtag...hope this is of some help and good luck.
