Default eurovox/virgin bix issue - please help

Hi
I have had a eurovox max v running fine for a few years now. Also have a broadband router in a seperate room. Today i put a cable splitter on the broadband connection, and tried to hook up my original vi*gin media box. It is a st 4200dvb scientific atlanta. It has been stored away in the loft for a few years but i was hoping to use it as a freeview box in another room. When it switches on all i get are the 3 lights saying "standby, modem and remote" and nothing else... I thought my splitter may be dodgy but if i take the eurovox into this room it works ok, and if i take my original vi*gin box to the main connection in the living room then i get the same error. Maybe the box has packed in after being sat in the loft for a few years ? any ideas would be a big help. Thanks

you're box will more than likely be dead as virmen has done so many changes/up-dates in the past few years, ..jay

VM probably won't question your Eurovox, they have been round to mine numerous times in the past when I had a DBox and they never batted an eyelid!
