Hi all, could someone please tell me if it is possible to unlock a HTC Hero Android Smartphone which is with the T-Mobile network, please. I have the chance to buy one from a friend and need to know in a hurry as I do not want to hold him back in his effort to sell the phone. I should also add that I live in Ireland and am with Vodafone just now. Thanks for any help or advice I am sure I will get.

Dont think its possile without unlocking it in the shop or getting an unlock code from T-Mobile , but yeah it can be done.

I got mine unlocked via a code from unlocking.com - it was locked to orange and cost me 11.99 and received code in @10mins

Thanks lads, I found a guy on E bay and his feedback is good, so had a go with him, he has got the details and I am waiting for the unlock code for it. I found loads of possibilities in google also.

Just for anyone else that might need help with the same issue, I got the code from the guy on E bay, have not been able to try it yet, as the phone is in the post at the moment. The guy I got the code from was e-unlocks, as I said before he has a good feedback record so it should be OK and he was considerably cheaper than a lot of others. The turn round time was about 24 hours so he was quite fast too.
