mosc or fun ??

hi guys moved into a place that up till march 1st was working fine with a mosc now gone off i see a fun card here too which is better to use mosc or funcard ? and if mosc or fun can i get a programmer that does both , regards ardvaark,

mosc is better, but of course u have not searched or read up before posting

a lot of cards have gone to N3 and you will lose all channels, and the toxic that used to make the funcards run out , a new one by sr20 has been posted

check to see if your area as gone to n3 here

thanks guys so if i read correctly the toxic issue is a date issue, i guess its the same with the mosc, so if i alter the date will that be enough ? or has the switch to 3.7 rendered the mosc useless ? , i guess the 3.7 refers to the nagra rom so the earlier rom in my mosc wont autoroll any more, ? or am i being a bit simplistic ? , regards ardvaark

MOSC will be fine..no changes needed..unless your area has gone to NAGRA3. If that's the case it's game over...no hack.

For funcards / Atmega on 3.7 you need the updated flash for your card/area from downloads.

As for the fun/atmega exteep, yeah it's just the tier dates that need changing, I modded toxic (also in downloads) to do it automatically.

thanks sr20 but that sounds ominous because the mosc was in the receiver and working fine, but now dead, is that a sure indication we here in wembley are now on n3 or could it be a card programming problem, like i said i never did the mosc it was already here , regards

hi as a newbie here and not wishing to stay in the dark and sound thick on the subject could somebody please point me to a useful thread regarding exactly what this 3.7 is , n3 around the corner i know but what is this 3.7 that vm are sending would like to learn , read about a byte but could i read something that explains in basic terms what is happening , regards ardvaark

Dont think theres a thread explaining exactly what it is , but in a nutshell ...

It's a software update virgin are sending to all their Tv boxes , the update lays certain code in place so when they send out their new N3 cards , it will work as apose to the previous software which woundt handle the new cards.

Theres a sticky in this section with a list of area already gone N3 and area that have gone 3.7.

i like finding out new info and am pretty sure i have learnt quite a bit already thanks to you all, ok, 3.7 is a software update sent to official boxes thats why third party boxes are relatively unaffected other than a scan and sort needed, i have a samsung box in wembley, and the software version reads 3_7v_01_p12an_s_s2110, which i guess is the 3.7 software updated, but it was working ok with the mosc until march 3rd but not now, so if the mosc has been affected am i right in assuming n3 is here and bye bye channels, or could it be a date issue in the mosc because card status says ok, any ideas ?? as far as i am aware no new cards have been sent out yet which puzzles me if i were to read the mosc and modify it with a pheonix which software would be best to use to alter the date info, regards ardvaark,

thanks shark and if i read it correctly it says my area wembley is 3.7 but not n3 yet but my mosc still stopped working, any ideas ??
