Default Running 2 boxes

Hi,

Just new to site and looking for some help. I have a virgin v + box. Can I split the cable using a 2 way f splitter, run 1 cable off back into the v + box, then run the 2nd cable into a chipped box in another room in house?

Would this work ok?

Any help on this would be grateful

Thanks

You certainly can mate, make sure you use a good splitter such as Konig though (your signal levels will be bad if you use cheaply made splitters). The ones VM supply are also good to use.

Are you sure that any expenditure is worth it, given the impending NAGRA3 roll-out?

Not worth it, your second box is going off for good shortly (exept for channels 1-5)

Hi, all new to this. What is the nagra3 rollout? And what will it mean for the 2nd box?

Basically the encryption is being upgraded. Not cracked and if it does it wont be for a while.
So your hooky box wont be able to descramble any channels. Your subbed V+ will work and you will be supplied with a new card soon if not already.

when virgin install the 2nd box at your house is it a case of just running another cable to the box from the main feed?

Yes from a splitter, they might post you a self install kit with box and cable etc, they seem to be doing that a lot now.
