Hi everyone,
Just ordered this box from Lincsats shop but wanted to ask a basic question:What formats can it play as a media player (as I understand you can just hook up your external HDD with movies on for example through USB)? Avi? Xvid? Mkv? Does it support subtitles (.srt or .sub)? Any info much appreciated

Try plugging a USB with an .mkv HD file and try run it from the USB menu. It will answer your question. |

Plays: AVI, Xvid, Divx.
Does Not play: MP4 (plays fine short while then cuts sound through rest of movie). Not Tested: mkv. ..and obviously it plays the format it records in, cant remember ext now. btw has anyone noticed poor playback quality on PC of recorded programs? When playback on STB its clear as the channel i watched it on though??

hi yes mate...my cs provider put me on Newcamd..still had same issues..went back to CCcam...anyway, you can delete the heat issues..cos i have just this very minute switched on the reciever from a very cold icy house...just watchin the england v bangldesh cricket, within 5 minutes..freezing and glitching...so its not a heat issue...definately FW issues here...im surprised the starview team havnt fixed this yet...was gonna recommend this box to my mates but have some serious doubts over the future support for this box...
