i have sky + installed , sky want £60 to install sky hd, if i got the sky hd box, is it just the case of swapping the cables from one box to the other, or does ant work have to be done on the dish outside

Nope nothing needs to be changed dish side just a box and sky to pair box and card

If you sign up online they only charge £30 for an upgrade.
