Default 8 west inclined/declined orbit

hi
i have had a dish given me its a 800x700 i have it pointed at 8 west all working fine. i am wanting to pick up the inclined/declined orbit on this bird for footy i have 2 lnb and a bracket could i use both lnb so i keep a lock on both inclined/declined ?
and also how many degrees would i have to raise/lower the dish to get a lock also is there any tp's to lock onto that can be found at any time thanks in advance for any info

Its 3.5 degrees inclined which is a hell of an inclination. Its doing a figure of 8 every day passing through the middle of the 8 twice a day as it wobbles up and down

The only way to track it properly is with a motorised 2 axis dish

Sorry dont know - 8W is just about behind a tree here so I rarely bother with that bit of the arc as I have to set up a dish specifically to get it. Just outside the front door as well which makes getting in and out of the house hazardous....!

A dish with two lnb's mounted one above the other to watch an inclined bird is an interesting idea - Ive never heard of it being done. You would lose the signal in the transition period between the two outer nodes of the orbit, but might be worth trying as an experiment!

Err lats see - it wont be mirror image this time - the top lobe of the loop will require the lnb to be higher than the usual arc plane

If you check here:

LIVE REAL TIME SATELLITE TRACKING AND PREDICTIONS: TELECOM 2D

and set the upper lnb up when Telecom 2D is near latitude +3.5 you can then wait a few hours until shes down at latitude -3.5 to test the lower lnb

Or vice versa if shes well down in -ve latitude when you start!

No problem matey --> Telecom 2D was at +3.4 about 2300 uk time last night. I think we need a photo of the over/under lnb system when its complete

To switch between the 2 receivers get an A/B switch - about a tenner on fleabay.

If it works might be worth submitting it to Alex the editor at Wotsat - they are always looking for interesting projects to feature on the blog or in the magazine
