Default Draytek 2820n

Hey guys, I wanted to get a new router, the netgear ones have failed me twice now (one i bought probably 5-6 years ago, and another from virmin)
I have looked into dual wan ones as I will be needing that and also 'n' draft mode will be cool too.
I wanted to know if I could use 2 cable modems on this router, because I cannot find a straight answer, I see people trying to use a cable modem but they use the WAN2 port for it, does this mean the other wan port doesnt allow cable modem?
I know the vigor 2910 works because some people on here use it, but I didn't wanna be held back with older models so I wanted a newer one like this.
Any ideas?

any router capable of running DDWRT can be used as a dual WAN router! as for the question about 2 cable modems, if its a dual wan router then it wont care what WAN source is connected to it as long as its ethernet!

If at least one of those modems is modded mate i'd hold off a bit before spending £170 on a router.

I think it's all about to go tits up re modded modems

Dunno TBH mate I was only commenting on a very narrow subject.

But i'd be extremely suprised if it 'bridged' the two connections to combine the available bandwidth. It'll just use one or the other AFAIK.

In fact after looking at the spec, i'd say no, you cannot use this with 2 modems at all.

isnt load balancing it?
in the specs it says:
Secondary WAN Port : 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet for load balance and WAN failover
so doesnt that mean i can configure it to balance the load between 2 modems or keep the 2nd modem as a backup incase the first one goes off.

Dammit now you made me look lol

It can load balance between the primary ADSL modem and a 2nd modem plugged into the ethernet WAN2 port. It cannot load balance, or even use, 2 cable modems connected to the WAN2 LAN port.

It's an ADSL router after all.

oh right, so only between the adsl modem and 1 cable modem?
so can any router do it, or are they all the same?
Linksys RV042 - is this just the same?
and also the vigor 2910 or 2930?
DrayTek Vigor2910 Series Router Firewall
