two technomate boxes running with patch problem

hi
i've two boxes running side by side a tm1500 and a tm5300 with two dishes one on hotbird and the other on thor,problem is when i switch on hotbird the thor channels go (i think the patch turns off?) is there a way round this,my mate has two running with no problems and have copied his to the "T" but it still goes of.....any ideas.

What way have you got your coax sorted mat?. I mean have you got the two dishes on a switch and then a loop through from one box to the other? Bit difficult to say what is wrong if we don't know what was your two boxes and dishes are configured, please let us have more details of the way they are configured.

hows it going in the kingdom.....i've the coax run straight from the dishes to the boxes,no loops or switches better still i installed my mates without any problems....lol... this has me pulling my hair out as some freeview channels on thor work fine and the signal is spot on even with the hotbird sat running.

Bit of clarification still needed...

So you have a dish on Thor connected to one receiver

and

a dish on Hotbird, connected to the other one?


I fail to see at all, how turning on the Hotbird receiver, could possibly affect the other system at all!


BTW, if you have no switches or loop throoughs , the above is the only way it should be connected.

Thanks mate, things are just great here in the kingdom. I, like robbo am at a loss to understand why you are getting this problem. You should not be experiencing any problem, as I understand you have one dish connected to one receiver and the other dish connected to the other, no switches or loop through, if I am right then there is no way one box should be interfering with the other. If you had looped through from one box to the other then you might get some problem, if you did not have the one of the boxes turned of, but I cannot figure what is happening.

sorry lads my internet been down from last saturday night and just back on this afternoon.....i still have the problem,i've re-checked all coax,connections and dishes it has no loops and straight runs,could it be anything to do with lnb's?

Can't see any reason why this should be happening. Have you tried the feeds to the different boxes, anything has got to be worth a try? I am stumped by this one, there is no reason on this earth why this should be happening.
