N3. Will V+ still work as a PVR?

well not really how i said lol but it got the point i was trying to make:

i meant, reboot box, no card, as soon as it booted and said no card, take it of fee and put in card. i was hoping this would trick the box into not having a N3 feed and the menu may come on with out a live feed

but glad it worked

maybe RED should note this post incase we need it again in a month or so

the pvr functions work with a ird of all 0's and a fake bk

If necessary you could possibly use a "fake" N3 card that simply sends the correct enabler tiers. No encryption functions should be necessary so you shouldn't need a real card.

One of the N2 hexes (slightly modified for ATR) could probably be used for this.

tried but no luck

take card out reboot, when pop up says card not in

take it off the feed

put card in, see after a few mins if can get v plus menus? but give it a few mins to settle

when i put the card in ,i get blank screen ,i can get the programme guide ,,but nothing else ,,when i try to get the v+ it says not subscribed to it ,
what am i doing wrong here ,,
its a sa8300 box with modd orginal ntl card in it ,,
any comments

I had this before when still on N1 where I did a MOSC card with 'correct' tiers for pure, including HD. But, when trying to use V+ features it said not subscribed. I hadn't added the V+ tier. Found it added it and it was fine. Definately won't work with false IRD/BK.

You sure you've got the tier in there and it's not expired mate?

everythign was working before it went to n3 i think 3 weeks ago ,v+was working for 2 days then it started to give me the message that you are not subscribed to v+service ,,call 150

i think all tiers were in there ,,
the exp date should be ok i thihk ,,but i will double check

how can this be done ,,
or can i watch the FTA hd channels on it ,,i can get the basic 4 channels and some FTA channels on it ,,but not the hd ones ,i was getting them before the n3 hit ,,

The HD channels require tiers on a card to enable them. Your only chance would be to fool the box into believing that the HD channels are active by giving it the required tier data (assuming they aren't encrypted).
