Default N3. Will V+ still work as a PVR?

Do V+ boxes continue to work as PVR (on the free channels) after the change to N3?
I ask because my SA8300 worked ok as a PVR until March 1st. I live in a N3 area and wonder if this happened to everyone else or whether I just need to modify my ( old ) smartcard.
I checked the card and noticed that the rights date on the card was march !st. Aha, I thought, that will be the problem and changed it to another date using nagra edit. But it still doesnt activate the PVR.
Any advice will be appreciated.

You dont need a card to use record or play or any other function, you can record the free channels that you still have.
Is the hard drive full up ? maybe you need to format it .

As far as i have been told and i maybe wrong

you will not be able to use any of the v+ features when the card goes.

I know RED D is the best man to know this things, but wanted to let you know that when the funcards went on the 1st of march. The people who had 2 of my v+ boxes could not get into the menu at all, to watch recorded shows or record.

Got that

Thanks reddeisel but that is not the soluton. When I press the V+ button to enter the PVR menu I get a message saying that I havent subscibed to V+ and an invite to ring VM to deal with the problem. There is no access to any other menu therein so I cant format the drive either. A little history to help.....
Six months ago I was given three SA8300s and asked if I could get them to work. Two of these did not yield the boxkey and the owner abandoned them. Both of these did not work as a PVR at first but did so when I wrote a card with the correct IRD and an incorrect boxkey. One was in use as a PVR until March 1st. Logically, Iv'e tried the second one and that is in the same state. This could mean that everybodys' boxes have gone off although the card in each box has the same data apart from the IRD.
I think you have helped by letting me know that this problem is local to me and it is worth my while to play about with the settings on the card.

Update.... Just read river-rats reply and it appears that this problem is widespread after all. I have got used to the PVR too much so I will go out and buy a freeview or freesat PVR in due course. Problem sorted! Thanks.

Big thanks to River-rat.Tried your suggestion and this is what happened.
Got message saying " Your V+ subscription is being activated. Your box will reboot shortly." Took it off feed as directed.
Box reboots as far as AP52. Then added cable feed, box goes to AP53 and continues. Pictures come on and after a minute I have access to V+ menu.
Thanks. Now I will be able to watch my recordings.

I had one with a dead card in a bedroom that used to record the free channels and work ok, i pinched the hard drive for a pc so i cant check it now, my main one works ok if i pull the card out, so you've got me scratching my head now?
