One of the caps has probably blown on the PSU, check the area where the PSU is seated (MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF AND DISCONNECTED FIRST) and look for any leakages or bulges on any caps.

You can replace the caps that are leaking/bulging mate (if there's any).

Inside your box you have two PCBs, one is the mainboard (where the scart sockets, RF in etc are) and the other is the PSU, you want to be looking at the PSU PCB mate.

Ive just sorted a box of mine that did the same m8. Its was a blown capacitor. Replaced it with 16v uf 1000 and box is now back on

Gerat - a few weeks ripping Vermin is a bargain - someone once worked out it was £112 for every Vermin - capacitor costs 27p?
