Could there be any truth in this ?
<o></o> The change over to Nag3 in the UK is now been deliberately slowed down due to the backlog of pending new installs in Nag 3 areas this is as a direct result of the change over, basically Virgin are struggling with the influx of new customers wanting installs and are now concerned rolling out Nag 3 en mass to quickly will actually drive potential new customers in to the hands of Sky if they have to wait to long, therefore the roll out will be deliberately staggered more slowly in order to cope with the demand on the engineers. <o></o> We all know it is a case of when and not if anymore, however it would in my opinion make perfect sense to be able to supply with the demand, rather than just roll out the encryption to quickly and then struggle to cope and actually drive customers in to the hands of Sky. <o></o> It will only be a stay of execution, but it might give some of us an extra couple of months, that’s if there is any truth in it. <o> </o> |

I wonder what people would do if they actually knew the exact day their TV would go off... Maybe do an allnighter watching TV , Take a sick day to watch it for the last time ..... me ? Id chuck the fecker out and plug a subbed one in.
Maybe a useless post but i think people are making out that N3 is the end of the world , No offence meant but i think its a little pathetic how many threads are posted and how they are worded. Shark. |

surely they could ask if the new customer is capable of a 'self install'?
the self install would comprise of throwing the starview in the bin and plugging in the new sammy. if there short on sammys, (or sa8300's for that matter) they should have an amnesty where we can all take our boxes back to them (while they did a road trip round the country and stopped in each major town for 1 day) with no questions asked, maybe even get a fiver each for them, hahaha

I ordered a second box and they refused self install, and had to wait three weeks for the enginner to come out and they insisted £35 one off charge, this was about 4 weeks ago, I didnt want to get caught in the rush for second boxes for the bedrooms lol.

well i see on there site that engineers are mainly required in n3 hit areas.
if they do indeed strugle to keep up demand, there going to loose new sales to sky. sky fit it in 3-6 days and the boxes are quality

i know there is a an extremley slight chance they still could ,but taking in to account the administrative side of issuing cards and the timeline left it looks to me unrealistic. |

I dont really think VM have much of a choice on the timetable for N3. Its all driven by the encryption suppliers, Kudelski. VM may make decisions as to which areas go first etc but I doubt Kudelski would tolerate a "slowdown" of the work just so VM could grab a few customers. Its all about contracts. VM's N1 contract expired nearly 18 months ago but Kudelski allow them to continue to use it only whilst there is no usable alternative. As soom as the N3 streams are available in an area, they effectively must be used as soon as possible !
