Well you could say that about sky, but is a Dreambox 500s a sky box? I'd say it is

Meh whatever

Are 'sky' boxes manufactured by Sky? no.

I think by most peoples definition a 's' dreambox is a 'sky' box.
Maybe not branded 'sky', you can get other v poor sat service through it if you want to be odd about things.

In that way, a Sony car stereo 'radio' would not be called a 'Sony'..nor a 'radio and one way CB combo' just cos you can pick up CB transmissions with it.

Sky is not truly 'hackable' in terms of a plastic hack, but cardshare is perfectly possible, just like cable N£...even though we can't go into specifics on here.

EDIT: N£ was originally a typo, hold shift and type n3, think it works quite well

A Sky box is a "Sky Box". Dosen't matter it it's Amstrad, Samsung, Pace or any other brand. A Sky Box has a Sky Logo on it and is bog all use except recieving 28e Channels, either FTA or with a Paid Subscription. Sky Italia boxes also fall into the Sky Box catagory

You can't brand every satellite reciever a Sky Box. What about TNTsat, Polsat and the like. Are they Sky boxes as well ? A Dreambox, Technomate, Protec, Manhattan etc ARE NOT Sky Boxes.

The only catagory that they all fit into is Satellite Recievers.
