Thor is not at zero, or shouldn't be.

You are at 2.8W, Thor is at 0.8W. So when aligned to Thor, the pointer on the motor should be at 2 degrees, in the easterly direction.

I don't know, where is Eutelsat3.1, it is not a valid satellite name.

Eutelsat :: 26 geostationary satellites at 19 orbital positions

Depends on your longditude, I am at about 2w, so the motor would drive to 1e to point at Thor. The orbital positions are measured from 0deg, so you have to compensate for your position. USALS does this automatically. and BTW 1e does look like 0 on the motor scale.

You are making no sense.

Why would you want to go to 2 west?

Ok, then. When you are getting a signal on Thor, is the motor pointer, just a tinsy winsy bit east of zero?, i.e 2 degrees (ish) easterly. If so , then the motor is roughly the right place on the pole.

Confirm that? Then move onto next stage, is your long and lat set correctly in the receiver?

If the receiver is working correctly then, and you have enetered the long and lat correctly, if you send the dish to Thor using USALS it should go to a smidgeon past 0 in the easterly direction.

Then, for example, you repeat the process and send the dish to 5W, it should go the other way, a bit past zero in the westerly direction, and you should be able to pick up a signal from that.
