elevation on dish an motor

Hi All , i have miss-layed the instructions that came with my kit , so am a bit unsure on settings for dish and motor ,here is what i have set them to for my location of 53.4 degrees lat,

Motor- Lat dial points at 53
elevation points at 36

Dish- one dial points at 30
other dial points at 22 (dish is a 1m orbital)

Can somebody just confirm this is all correct , as the dish is going pretty high up , and i dont fancy correcting errors whilst shivering up a ladder

I afraid, that setting the dish before getting up the ladders is not going to be much good.

You are going to have to adjust the dish elevation, whilst up the ladder to get a signal on your due south satellite. If you want to set the dish roughly at ground level, set it so that the face tilts up just a bit.


You can set the motor latitude on the ground though.
