Default tv card help

a friend of mine has a Dbox, and wants to watch the channels on a pc, i have suggested using the ethernet cable and various software to stream the channels accross, but he doesnt want to do this and insists that he can use a tv capture card to watch channels off his Dbox onto his pc.

i know this is possible but i am not sure which type of tv card will support the incoming of a signal off a dbox.

what card would i need, i know my old pc had a happauge card that used to work with an NTL box but not too sure what model of card it was

any help would be appreciated
