what box is best / easyier

Thanx gents. Hey sorry for the delay in respomding to this post as it's been a one of those days.
It's funny...... you here so much about the 500s and then when you ask 4 that little bit confirmation, it gets blown out the water.PMSL..

well, it now looks like the 7020 may be an option, or as nanochicken has said is to buy it from a good dealer.
I suppose it true on what you say when you say you get what you buy if you buy cheap.

it's like when you say its the quality not the quantity.
anyway,, apart from tutarials can anyone give me a jump start and give me a newbies guide on whats next after i got myself either a 500 or a 7020 etc on what image etc would be best to do what to do to share my card.

All the info you require can be found via google - no-one will hold your hand and give you a step by step how to guide here if for no other reason c/s'ing is illegal and anyone providing such info could leave themselves and the forum open to prosecution.

Expect to take a couple of hours reading to get a reasonable understanding. The principles are fairly simple once you have tried it a couple of times but the first time it can be a major headache.,.

Oh and when you get the boxes dont expect to get advanced functions working the first few nights! One of the forums I staff on we had a bloke almost pleading for someone top come round and set it up as his kids were screaming at him to give them their free telly. You DONT want that sort of pressure when tinkering! He was told to switch it all off and try again when he had a few hours to spend on it - we didnt hear from him again so presumably the boxes went on fleabay a few days later

(Id have given the kids a good slap but thats me)

DM 500's are good as a budget receiver(and good for a beginner to linux) however a lot of DM clones(there arent any DM 500 SD genuine ones any more, unless used, and even then it could be a clone) can not power a "motor" properly. I myself have an "openmedia" which is basically a good quality DM 500C and 500S clone

If you want something as cheap as possible, but also good for the money, Id purchase a Technomate 500

Dont know about the TM 500, but on my openmedia 500cs( a dreambox clone), I have PLI running. The rest, we can not help due to the legalities of what you are wanting to do(Sky lawyers are VERY good). Mr google will assist you though!

Dont think we're a bad batch for not helping you with the last bit, but this forum is governed by UK law, and I doubt Brian and the OP want to be taken in to court by armies of lawyers from Sky, and get this forum **** down

Other forums arent hosted in the UK, so the owners dont give a s**t, as theres nothing Sky can do

Lets just say we can help you with any thing technical to do with the receiver you are wanting to purchase, but if you start talking about card sharing, shares, peers, clines etc..., we cant help

Nano , i wana say thanx for your help so far and you have shed new light on things i had taken for granted.
as you can imagine , someone like me and even yourself that there is so many different variables as where 1 minute is can be the best and then the next it can be,,,,,, welllll. crap as you have explained.
so, my next question before i do it back to front is ask you lot in here if there is a post where a newbie has started from scratch and built his/her knowledge up and got help on the way ( thumbs up for the mods and gaffers for a supper cool forum of info ) is to go from the start where by having next to nothing to then getting up and runing sharing his own card even if its to his/her brother and sister over the road.
I think this would be a great thread to read.
My appologies if it already exists, but i havent found it yet.

Everyone who has tinkered with c/s'ing has had to start from scratch. There is no step by step guide on this forum and never will be as it would leave the forum open to prosecution. (Any guide put up would be swiftly removed!)

Google is your friend - all the info you require is out there, but will take a few hours to get your head around the info..

Hey waquasahmed, you just answered a thaught i had and want to assure a few ppl on here that i no there is questions i cant and wont ask and there is info i can understand i cant and wont find.
But i am here to help and find info that i am sure ppl on here can assist with.
i can understand that as a newbiew that MOST mods will think that " here we go again another newbie looking to do $kY " well. am sorry but it aint a case of that.
I think a lot of it is down to knowledge and help that i will hope to learn from here and then the knowledge i learn from here is up to myself if i want to get my fingers burnt, that i must admit that i dont want to choose to.
i supose that the information is out there somewhere , but then it is up to you what you want to do with it.
I respect all of you lot in here and one day be able to help others.

Well, you can find them but not here. Heres a hint-type in cccam in to google, and maybe card server, card sharing etc... There are a few forums specialising in c/s

I dont think of you like that tbh(Im not a mod though) I think you've actually done some work eg: you know that dreambox's are the way forward and you know the absolute downright basics of sharing, so you didnt come on the forums, expecting to be spoon fed, like a lot of people

Lol, over here you can ask questions mainly to do with how to use the box for FTA(free to air) uses, along with repairs etc..
e.g.:
you can ask how to transfer a file called "cccam", but we cant tell you how to use it
you can ask what image to use, but we cant tell you how to share with it
You can ask how to network(either wired/wireless) your receiver(the likelihood is for sharing purposes), but we cant help you with any thing past that
We can tell you any thing about general hard ware repairs etc...(As long as there are people on here with the same box and can provide support)

I suppose you get my general gist here now.

Hopefully, yes you may be able to help others with the same problem you are having. Hope you have a nice time here as well! There are also the forums "satellites.co.uk" where they discuss a lot more in depth, I think. They are partnered with these forums, so they wont allow c/s(card sharing) talk either

Many thanx 4 that, i totaly appreciate your assistance and others who i will no doubt get to know.
i respect you answer on google this and that etc, but i find a lot of the Q & A's here in order to point me in the dirrection i want to and give you lot a BIG thumbs up.

its time to now move on and yes i did goole c/s d-box dm's etc etc and techwatch was one of the ones at the top, so i gave it ago at the same time as onother that i wont mention.
and within 24 hours i have been made welcome, although having to introdce mself as if not then get warned. then i have my questions answered in full and if not more so basicaly i cant be a more happier as a new member.

i will learn and grow and hope many more members will do the same.

i thanx you guys and am sure i will do my bit in return.
