Even when the Ashes were available for "Free", the Broadcasters chose not to show them. BBC would rather show Horse Jumping or Wimbledon and C4 preferred the Horses as well making it impossible to watch at times even if you were prepared to pay. At least with Sky you can watch all the action live.
