Default Screw card sharing!

After watching the latest episode of "family guy" from the US(And we all know they get their telly first!) online, I started to google other things such as watch x live!

Im now thinking if I cant find a free server, then just to make a HTPC with a DVB-S, and maybe even a DVB-T tuner

Im now seriously thinking of this. Of course running costs will be quite an issue, however it'll be cheaper than subscribing to Sky or paying in to a pay server lol. Running costs would total roughly £4.22 every month.

For all you guys with HTPC's already, this may be the way to go if you cant get access to a free server!

Ive heard of pay servers costing about £15/month, and Ive also heard of free servers about, but Ive also heard that your more likely to get a chance at one if you share a card yourself.

May as well pay for BB only with VM(for the speed and bandwidth)

Money saving FTW!

Another point about this. Ill bet a lot of you here will have family members wanting continued "free TV" and you may not be keen on showing ALL of them how to c/s This COULD be the answer!

£4.22 a month(running costs) to keep a PC running is worth it IMO if you can get telly out of it!

In my household, it doesnt really matter too much, because we have two computers(one mine and one my sisters) I have switched to a netbook(and rarely use a PC) My sister gave me £210 to purchase a netbook-Its coming in April making running costs of both devices go down by 7.5. Obviously, there would be no need for a monitor either, though a DVD recorder may come in handy

So we wouldnt notice a difference to the leccy bill at all tbh
