sky, 4 tv distribution kit

just bought one of these from maplins as i feel am being ripped off, by the sky multiroom charge. the fact you get the same telly in the different bedrooms is not a problem. but, does any one know if theres anything sky can do bout this set up. when i cancelled, they wanted to know why, what for, where, how, etc...jesus, it was like going through customs! i know the box talks back to them, so will they find out, and can they do anything. regards

Itys a 4 way rf distribution kit. Nothing more - All it does is amplify the rf output, and the box cant tell Sky anything about that at all. In fact now you have done away with multiroom just disconnect the phone connection and put the cable away somewhere safe. You dont need it now.

cheers a/s, but the phone was disconnected, then i got a snotty letter off them saying they were ganna charge me unless i reconnected it, (£27.99) that was before a cancelled the multiroom like. but can they do anything about using the distribution kit i mean. ta.

Connecting the RF out to another TV is not a probem. Of course Sky will try to persuade you not to cancel multiroom, because they will lose a tenner a month, but you'e not obliged to answer the questions.

The Sky boxes themselves are actually well setup for it anyway, as they have 2 rf ouputs, and with a magic eye and a spare remote you can control the box from the other room also.

There are also loads of products available to distribute the picture around the whole house as well, if required. I use one to distribute my cable signal, in a similar way it would be done with a Sky box.


No Sky can't do anything about it, its perfectly legal, and the box facilitates it by receiver IR commands down the coax.

Yes you would have had the letter - the boxes phone home under multiroom to ensure that both are at the same address, and the phone line has to be connected for the full duration of the mr subscription.

You DONT need it if you dont have mr - Ive had Sky (single box sub) for about 8 years, and the phone line has been connected twice - for a grand total of about 5 minutes to authorise the various subscription cards. Sky have never said anything
