Hi,
I'm a complete newbie, having recently purchased my first FTA Digital Satellite Receiver whilst on holiday in Germany and pointed an old Zone 1 Minidish at Astra 1 to receive German Language Channels. I'd really like to view channels from some other European Sats but I live in quite a small house and a multi-lnb bigger dish (or motorised unit) isn't really an option for me. I've done some googling (including reading a couple of threads on this forum) about the Technisat Multytenne which seems to defy everything I've been told about the dish size required for a Multi-lnb setup. At 45cms, it seems perfect (even if the huge lnb does look a little funny) and would allow me to receive FTA channels from 4 Sats. So I'm interested to know what people's experience of these are in the UK, and if you guys think this would be a good option for me (I live about 20miles North of Portsmouth as you head towards Guildford) The most important Sat to me would be Astra 1, then Astra 2 - content from any other birds would be a bonus. Thanks in advance for your help guys, ![]() SB |

We have supplied and installed these for 2 years now and I'm amazed how well they work. Where you are will be ideal for using one.

Cheers southernsatellite, I'll give you a shout once the decision is made.
I'd also be interested to learn the thoughts of any Multytenne owners (particularly in the UK) |

Basically, its a toss up between Technisat Multytenne and another dish with multiple LNBs.
What I'm unsure of, is how big a dish (and how many LNBs) I'd need to receive channels from the same Sats if I went for a 'conventional' setup. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm really keen to replace the old zone1 minidish and get started on a 'proper' system. |

28, 19 and 13 are possible on a zone2, focus the dish on 19, and set the offsets for 28 and 13, though really an 80cm is advised.

Thanks Rick. I presume I'd need an LNB for each of those and there's no issues mounting 3 LNBs on a zone 2. Could this be wall mounted as a 'straight swap' for my current Zone1 which is pointed at 19.2e?
Basically I'd like to receive channels from as many Sats as possible from the smallest dish possible (like a lot of people, I suppose) |

The brackets are differant on the Zone2, so it's a complete swap, but otherwise yes. And yes a LNB for each sat.
You can get some universal LNB holders, Last I got was from Ebay. There isn't enough adjustment on them, so you end up needing to use zip ties on the outer side of the offsets to get the LNB's to point into the dish right.

So, I take it that no-one on the forums is using a Technisat Multytenne.
Is this because: - They're the best kept secret in home Satellite Systems. or - They're a bit crap ??

They are NOT crap! May be its that when people want multi satellites they get a motorised dish!

I would trust Southern Satellite when he says they perform well.
