They usually go into the /etc or /var/etc folder

What you need is a FTP programme , Firefox do a very good one called FILEZILLA , free and pretty easy to use ,
enter ip address , (of stb) usermane + password (root + dreambox on mine)

it will then connect to your stb , and list all files and folders in tree-like form , navigate to the correct folder and drag + drop (pc folders are listed on left of prog , stb on right)
good luck

thanks mate, downloaded filezilla and followed steps , pretty much ok, but unfortunately it looks like there is a password , but in my technomate book it says it should be root and no password , so i guess who setup my box for cs added a password and i dont know it,

If its been set up by a third party (for a pay server?) and has been password protected then you are stuffed.

You can always flash a new image as that will erase your c/s settings.

Depending on the image the password could be dsteam or satellite or dreambox try all those before giving up.

Nottingham should be the same as Lincoln, the channels were sorted into favourites with 60 "Teleport" channels added. You load to /var/tuxbox/config/zapit/ then reload channel lists or hard re-boot (pull the power).
