How to join avi files with VirtualdubMod
(1) Open up the first avi in VirtualdubMod (File --> Open Video File)
If you get a VBR error message like the one below, click no and ignore it. ![]() (2) Scroll to the last the frame of the video ![]() (3) Select File --> Append Segment, then select the avi that you wish to join ![]() (4) Select Video then Direct Stream Copy ![]() (5) The audio should be set to direct stream copy by default but it doesnt hurt to check. Go to Streams --> Stream List --> Right click on the audio stream and check that Direct Stream Copy is ticked ![]() (6) Save your new complete avi: File --> Save as --> Select a file name and click ok |

yes good guide but have you tried Nandub for joining xvid encoded files, you wont get any VBR error because it has the option to use the existing avi audio.
just select the video direct stream copy, add the first file then select append avi segment under the file menu then choose the second file add this and choose save as avi under the file menu, you dont have to go to the end of the file it will join the video automatically, this is only for xvid, for divx i use the standard virtual dub. give it a go, cya.
