Can't get many channels - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

Hi

I've installed the patch but all the channels are still coming up as 'scramble' so I can't get them.

What should I expect to get?

Any suggestions?

[using Technomate 1500]

Hi

Basically all the ones that are pay - i.e have a dollar sigh next to them.

Im fairly new to this so not really sure what to expect. I mainly wanted to get some cartoon channels for the kids e.g cartoon network or Boomerang.

The satellites I have got are to the west as I need to reposition my disk up on to the roof [won't be doing this until we get some buiding work done later in the year].

I currently have good signals for Thor, Hispasat and Altantic bird 12.5W.

I can see the free channels, but should I expect to get the others with Darkmans patch?

From Hispasat you can get TV cabo (lusomundo and video on demand), for the time being, as D+ is currently off.
Try to put the latest softcam, if not repatch your stb with the latest DM patch and then the latest softcam keys.

I have installed the latest DM patch [V1.9 01.06.06] Would I still need to update the Keys?

I'm fairly new to this - can you tell mw what is the difference between the softcam and the patch?

Think of it this way:

Patch = The heart and Brains that make it work.
Softcam = The Keys that decode the channels all in one file.

Without one or the other it aint gona work.

So now I have put in the latest patch, I need to update the keys - I can't seem to find keys for TV Cabo. Are they on the forum?

D+ are changing every day (so they don't work ATM) others like TV Cabo are a bit more stable
