You will have to provide more details of the system, as this type of post doesn't come up very often.

It is a Kathrein UFD170 DVB-S Receiver and turntable. And it is a 12V system

See if the antenna is sticking or jammed in some way.

Sounds like a possibility yes, though it does mention the voltage too.
Presumably it would be possible to check those two things relatively easily.

thanks for responding
yes i have read p70 with regard to the HDP overload OSD
So far I tested the voltage across battery terminal and read above 13V all the time also tested voltage coming out of receiver to link to turn table on roof and reads 13v also. there is power to receiver and turntable The turn table does comes up when receiver 1st turn on then stright the way OSD HDP overload
Now the turntable only come upright ???? should it be rotating the samtime???? I am new to satellite so not sure if it should be rotating??? I thought that my battery was no good but everytime I test with meter always 12.8V and above
I am completely lost
by the way. what is HDP overload means????

I confess I know nothing about this type of motorised system, nor do I know what HDP means.

I do however have a bit of experience with satellite motors and electronics in general.

Basically what the error is saying is that there is too much current being drawn by the motor. This could either be caused by it being stuck, or some electrical/electronic fault within the motor or its control circuitry. Though I would suspect more possible, and much easier to fix, is that the motor movement is restricted, i.e stuck., ..corrosion,debris, lack of lubrication etc etc.

Think your'e gonna have to take it apart, and see what's occurring, see why it won't turn. Does the motor turn without any load on it?

And yes the dish does need to turn, it has to point the right way to look at whatever satellite is chosen.

i will try to look at the turntable mounted on roof but without any idea what to look for Do I just try to physically rotate it when it is upright ??? not sure how to take it apart?? very unsure territory

I guess that it wouldn't rotate with the motor attached, and possibly not anyway. All the satellite motors I have had apart have a worm drive in there somewhere, which means that the motor can drive the dish, but the dish can't drive the motor, which makes sense, as you don't want the wind blowing the dish around.

Yes, I'm sure it is unsure territory. But since it doesn't work, you have two options, either take it apart yourself carefully and understand how it works, or pay a professional to do it for you.

Me, I take everything apart and try and fix it, always have done. Do sometimes end up with a pile of bits though.
