So long as it does what it needs, it's best for you.
![]() I've got a Sony Vaio as well - chose it because it does what I need, is also lightweight, and has some kind of anti-glare screen, which I thought was a nice touch.

That anti glare is really nice from Sony I will tell you but Sony’s are always pay for the name thing and size. Averatecs are not bad if you’re looking for a sturdy low priced alternative.

I suddenly have a need to buy one and will probably go with a Dell just because, as I mentioned in another thread, I've had decent luck with them.
Any Dell laptop users out there and stories? |

I enjoy gateway or the dell. Both are inexpensive an lightwieght to use. And yes I do have a wishlist of tech things I want to get. And the laptop is one of them( It's been on my list for about 4 years now)

I do like Dell but I am increasingly hearing some not so good things about their customer support that worries me. So while I'm waiting on the fall out, and to see if it improves, I'm looking around still.

When you watch the reporters on the news channels using their laptops inevitably it is a VAIO, do you think they get them free from Sony?? I know I didn't although the £700+ was well worth it. Not just paying for the name.
