when you're d-box is on the blink?

i have a replay lite box,i stay in the lothians in scotland.over the past 3 weeks i seem to lose channels,sly news,ss 4,the filth channel etc.when i was flicking through it today and noticed ss2 had dissapeard.
when ive lost a channel or two i rescan my box and i get all the channels back?.
i was curious to people who live in black area and have already had their boxes sin-died,is this the begining of the end?
i know vm has been sending smart cards out in fife and perth/dundee so its only a matter of time before my box goes on the blink.
i had sly on the phone the other day offering me half priced sly for 12 months.i told them i was going on holiday for 2 weeks and i would get back to them when i come back to hold them off and try and get the last miles out my box.
am i better off bitting the bullet and paying £28.50 a month for a year?

its a good deal considering i cant live with only council tv
alot of folk on here seem to know the score about the in's and out's about dboxs,any info would be great.

I would mate and take the offer or defo have a look at whats available at the moment, I just got sly installed this morning on a 12 months half price offer that costs me £24 for a month for all channels with free box and install and i also got £50 M&S vouchers
