you dont need a pc with vonage just plug in a small adapter to your router and plug a digital cordless phone and thats it, as long as your modem is on you can make and recieve calls, ive been with them for a few yrs.

Just plug your cordless base station into the vonage adapter.

I signed up for vonage after reading this post, unfortunately I did not end up any better off, my fault i guess, I always used virgins £19 50 bundle plus £11 phone line rental, and unlimited landline phone package that cost a further £8 a month, but when I phoned virgin I found out if I stopped using virgin phone line it would not be any cheaper so i now still use virgin and have stopped the unlimited phone package and use vonage for phoning out so it ends up only £2 a month cheaper lol maybe I should have checked virgin package before i bought vonage, but vonage is a great service and the customer care is really outstanding

yes you can use cordless like I do, vonage supply a box with a phone line port you plug this into the cordless phone base station and it gets the signal from the box, you do not need the computer switched on as the box plugs in to the modem works very well

I think Vonage is quite expensive - appreciate it is £5.99 per month but how many minutes do you all use a month on it?

What about when you go away for a break, you are still paying for it.

If you get an spa-3000 or something like it, you can get the same functionality as vonage and still use the same phone for voip and landlines. You can then get your calls for free / PAYG using one of the finarea companies.

While I do not like finarea that much (no support or communication), they do provide very low cost calls.
