Default Seriously...

Am I the only person in the world who doesn't own an MP3 player? Honestly, I'd like to know if anyone else posting doesn't own one.

No, you're not alone. No need for one here either.

I often feel embarrassed when I am not updated with respect to gadgets, but I do not have an mp3 player either. It is not expensive, really. I just usually have better things to do when I go out without having to listen to music and at home I am often working at the computer that I can easily use to play mp3.

I can chime in that I don't own one either! When I'm working online, I listen to some via my PC or I usually have a Bose radio on BBC4 all day. I drive an old Land Rover that the radio doesn't even work in and I sort of like it like that LOL.

I don't own an mp3 player either, but I do want one. They are just too expensive. If I were to get one, I'd probably get an Ipod. They seem like the best ones to get. I'm usually behind technology. I still have a crappy discman that I only just got 2 years ago. This is my first discman!

I had one of the first discmans and thought it was so cool. I carried it around alot and listened to it when I walked to and from work in Manhattan.
After about six months, I realized I missed the ambiant noise of the city!
Go figure.

There are a lot of mp3 players out there, but if I were to get one, I would probably get an iPod, too. Although, if I buy a Mac, it comes free with an iPod.

Anyway, what do you think of this player called Creative Zen? I didn't realize they actually use OLED these days! About 4 or so years ago they were only researching for the best organic LED that would produce white light.

Interesting, but could you explain organic led? The idea sounds great but how do they do it?

An organic light-emitting diode (OLED) is just a diode made of organic material. Essentially, it is cheaper than liquid crystal displays (LCDs), which are also organic in nature. Back then they had trouble finding a good organic compound that when stacked would emit white light. Interesting how technology progresses so quickly.

Also, a player with an OLED display would have longer battery power than a player with LCD. That is because LCD requires a backlight for illumination while an OLED emits its own light.

Thanks, Beatrix. When I did have a discman, the battery life was all important, so if OLED extends the power, I'm for it.
