Did new firmware break my eurovox max 3?

I installed the new firmware "EUROVOX_MAX_010706.zip" everything went fine epg now worked correctly, everything was working for a whole day i put it into standby mode at the end of the night.
The next day I turned it on everthing still working till i pressed the EPG button on the remote control the picture went black on the tv and no sound. I couldn’t change channels, switch it off using the remote control or using the front controls on the box so I unplugged it from the mains and left it for a bit. When I plugged it back in to the mains it was completely dead, no standby light no time on the display nothing. I have tested the mains lead and its working fine. I opened it up hoping a fuse had blown or something but there is no fuse i took it to work to test the mains psu board and everything is working fine all voltages are normal I also tryed flashing it back to the original firmware but vortex or dabba man can't find my box.
Please Does anyone suggest anything else I could try?

Not sure put the update on to downloads and i will go for it!!!! if my box go's the same way.....well R.I.P. for the both of us

Sent my box back and got a free replacement after 3 months of owning it!

Three of my friends updated their boxes to the new firmware and everthing works fine for them, must have been a freak occurrence. if anyones thinking of buying one I highly recommend "easyride123" on ebay very very helpfull with nearly instant email replys.

are you on TWest if so this is due to the new PPM service thay have recently intro.
Read this some were els and confirmed this when my frend installed to TWest.
But hay still have over 130 chanels.....
