Default Ads on web pages?

What are your thoughts on ads on web pages? I know some people don't like them or think sites are selling out. Personally if the site is providing something of value, I would much prefer it be driven by advertising than something like having me pay for it on a regular basis.

I like ads on webpages it is great to generate revenue for us. I think ads on most sites are fine if you are a driven business though ads would not be for you.

I don't mind ads on pages - but there's overdoing it, and there's *overdoing* it. A lot of online newspapers are crawling with so many ads it sometimes really feels like it gets in the way.

2c.

Cool Re: Ads on web pages?

Hey, everybody has to make a buck one way or the other. I have no problems with ads as long as they're not flashing in my face giving me epileptic seizures.

How about like pop-up ads or pop-under ads? How about those annoying floating ads you have to find the close x to get out of your face because they block the actual webpage?

Yeah, I agree. It's a way from them to make money, they don't really bother me. Except for those floating adds, just mentioned. I can't stand those, they're really aggravating to put it the nice way.

That is something I wonder about. I can't remember the last time I actively clicked on something that was an ad. Of course I am sure I got tricked by a link that was really an ad.

Lol actually I do it all the time if the game looks appealing enough. I guess I'm just a sucker for "beat up bush" games or "catch the flying pig". I might just have a slight case of OCD cause I can't stand the game ads flying around on my screen.

I do click them and trigger the ad...but then I just close out and ignore it when it becomes a larger one :-)
