how to decompress the image file

hello,

My dreambox is blocked by the shop where i bought it: no ftp no telnet.
I can only make standard things and a backup of the room.

I am wondering if i could not find there the login / password used to change the ftp account.
Maybe if i could decompress this image file ?

Someone knows something about that ?

I really hate to be limited by a shop....

What dreambox do you have?
Wy you don't use serial cable and restore all with dreamup?

I don't want to re-install the soft because a card sharing system has been installed.

I don't want to hack this card sharing system, only to have access to this dreambox...

Even the web interface has been blocked, i would like to use the vlc soft or to update the easily the channel list ...

Anyidea how to do that to delete this login/password ?

It's like this:
You need a tuxboxcomannder.
In /var/tuxbox/passw is the password.
It looks somethink like this:
"root:EIfidfjeSAEFKEOlasdf5ewr3rWEW:0:0:root:/root:/bin/sh"
!YOU DELETE encrypted word - so it looks like this:
root::0:0:root:/root:/bin/sh

Now telnet your box, and enter root - but without any password.
Then you enter a command "passwd" - now enter you desiered password.
