Does anyone know what this is about? I have recently heard of it. I found out that it is Microsoft's Xbox wireless portable media player and will possibly rival the iPod. It will be Wi-Fi-enabled and as said will be a "hybrid of music and game device, pitting it against players offered by Sony and Nintendo."

I think Microsoft are trying to downplay the idea of it being a direct rival to iPod - but it certainly sounds like an interesting machine.

I think you are right about that, Brian. Not making it a rival to iPod, because Microsoft intends the new player to be more than another iPod version. I believe they now call it the Zune player, probably due to be released this November.
