Freecall are now advertising 5 hours of free calls without having to buy credit and in line with other similar products any credit you do buy never expires.
I've programmed it into a SIP device and will be trying it over the next few days

You need at least 64kbit for proper VOIP. voip.com recommends 90kbit - 32kbit is the max upload you can expect with Dialup.

There has to be some catch, nothing's truly for free. What's the catch? How much advertising do you have to listen to before your call goes through?
I used the free411 thing the other day to get a phone number while away from a phone book. I had to listen to about 1 1/2 minutes of commercials. Yuck
