Hmm.. sounds like some kind of sync problem..

Do you record the discs on another unit/..eg Pc..

If you can try discs from a different source that are known to be good.. any originals for example...?

I get plagued by the resolution of the plasma to handle degraduation of colour, so that manifests as supple changes in brightness around say a light or sky being pronounced. If you know what you are looking for you can see it and grind your teeth.

This isn't a Blu-ray issue but how the system resolves shades as far as I can say. Comes of buying last years Pani and not waiting a year, I think.

That was serious 2am lamentation, I'd missed it when posted. Was copying 16gb of 24mega pixel photos on one SD card at the time for playing HD [yo partner has a 1,800 pound still camera excluding lens, Sony A900, big files doesn't make tea but does other clever stuff], so was checking the threads, takes a while.

If you are all good boys I might post up how to copy those HD movies from your sat boxes to AVCHD DVDs or SD cards. The wacko world of blu-ray, transport layers and a couple of days of processing time. Not too sure how esoteric this is. Now moved my big toe from sat hd, to camcorder hd, to getting bluray and shifting stuff onto hd dvd disks in AVCHD from the sat box.HMM

Well Josh we will look forward to your HD How-To's..

I have resisted buying any HD equipment for 2 reasons.. First being that most new equipment standards are all over the place at first until someone uses their head and decides it's a good idea to standardise things..
Second reason.. prices.. Already now you can see a huge drop in prices on last year as improvements are added to newer models..

So for me.. i will wait until the dust settles and then look for a bargain..

Ps.. the only blue-rays i see is when i'm doing a bit of welding..

Default fine lines on tv

Yes i have been experiencing the same, but not on all satellite, i think its either the change of weather or the strength of the signal itself, ie., when i point my dish to say the Nile their signall is quite strong and the fine lines seems to disappear, but other sats say thor. its there mostly all the time were as astra 2 (sky news-BBC News) their transmission is quite strong and hardly any fine diag. lines so i think its to do with the signal strengt mostly, unless others have a different opinion
