Default Help comrades, Clarke-Tech 2100 needs a serious vaccination

Hello friends,

Any intelligent brain out there to help? Adding transponders (or frequencies) with Clarke-Tech is

a problem that I have not been able to solve. This is what I have been doing:

1. Go to the "Main Menu" - Installation - Manual Scan.
2. Press the green button to "Add" transponder.
3. Input an active (valid) frequency, and when I try to scroll down to write in the symbol rate,

an error message always appears that says: "Invalid frequency Try again!!"

I have no interest in editing, I want to "Add" frequencies to the existing ones. Is this problem

a bug or an error on my part? Should firmware be changed to correct this? I have firmware version

174p. Let anyone who has ever done it successfully tell me how to do it.

Very warm regards to all.

Sunny (Málaga - Spain).

Hi sunny..

scoobydoobydoo is correct.. and to explain..

There is a limit to the number of transponders you can have on your receiver..

When you reach the maximum transponder count you will get the error message 'Invalid Frequency Try Again' when trying to add a transponder and also you wont be able to do a Blind Search..

If you delete unused transponders and then do a Manual Scan with 'Network On' ..new or missing transponders will be added..

Another useful thing to know is that Blind Search does a double-scan to find more channels and is especially useful for finding feeds..

Deleting transponders and channels can be time-consuming on the receiver so you can use the Clarke-Tech Channel Editor and do it on your Pc.. deleting satellites.. transponders.. and channels. .to your hearts content..
Download the channels list via the loader 1.8.7 (by selecting Upload!) and open with the editor.. edit.. then upload them to your receiver (by selecting Download!)..

Need more help just ask..

Thank you Scoobydoobydoo, Tony and Emilio. I am very glad for your answers. I can now understand that Clarke-Tech has an important limitation that I do not experience with other inferior receivers. What surprises me is that experts who have made a lot of changes through their useful firmwares have not taken notice of this.

Read below an answer that I got from a friend in angel-of-fire.

Warm regards friends,
Sunny.

"I want to "Add" frequencies to the existing ones."

Instead of:

"2. Press the green button to "Add" transponder."

Move to frequency box and enter the value with remote, if this one is present in the default list

a message box appears for add/confirm.

Put the other values you need:

- H/V -> red key
- S/R -> remote digit
- etc.

An other way is to use an editor, such as ndfeditor for build/modify a "default list" :

http://.......................................

see below the 5000 firmware.

I've tried it with a CT "plus" version, but I think may be the same with a "standard" 2100.

- Open the "default list" (only satellites and transponders) and made your changes.

- Download this one with the usual serial tools, set as "default list" in download label.

Usually a "default list" comming with ndfeditor (rar or zip), e.g . F007.ndf, but you could

obtain easly a one of it from a firmware (stb).

To do this:

- download stbsplit:

http://...........................

- open a firmware (e.g. 174p.stb) and confirm the binary (.bin) file creation.

- open the output ".bin" file with a hex editor , e.g. hxd, _http://mh-nexus.de/hxd/ , is

freeware.

- put the cursor at the end of the file and use the "search" function for "ndf" string in ascii

side, set "backward search direction".

- At the first "NDF" (from the below) it found, select from "N" of "NDF..." until the last

character (END.)

- copy/paste into new file (see hex editor "File" menu).

- Save the new one with extension ".ndf"

- Close the hex editor (or only the new .ndf file created on it).

- Open that file.ndf with ndfeditor and make all the changes you want (under the right satellite,

of course ).

- Save as file_name.ndf and load into receiver as "default".

If all the things were made right, you should have your new frequency inside the receiver's

transponders list...

Don't forget : a new download (firmware.stb) always made the update of the "default list" with

the its one, so all your changes will be lost...

Regards,
mf2hd.
