Hello ,What do you recon will come next......................
into the future..... well i recon and have for some time that we can be using 20 ghz memory, via USB slots. in the future sat boxes will be accomodating a usb slot. it is enough even now to accomidate an extensive program. cams may be an add on between box and usb memory. tps no longer a problem ,possible to store a years worth of updates. by the time this could happen the memory chip could contain 50 or more ghz. so when can we really take advantage of all this new technology. soon i recon. please be futuristic and add your predictions to the thread, could be intresting to know what you think. |

They are already working on a new technology for memory chips.. which doesn't need to follow Murphys Law.. (maximum number of transistors on a slice of silicon)..
The new method they say will see 1 Terabyte (1000Gb) on a single usb memory stick!... within 10 years..

All this new technology will work in favour of providers and cryptographers too.
Sure it will be great too have all that storage on a tiny USB pen, but, also the amount of information we will be wanting to store by that time will also have risen, with HD movies, HD Audio and things we don't know about just yet. Its just like now, we have USB memory pens and mp3 players, but 10-15 years or so ago, we had.... Floppys, with a staggering 1.44mb. I still have hard drives kicking around that are only 400MB (msworks for windows anyone?). Not to mention my spectrums and Commadore 64. Oh the days when my spectrum 16k was the bees knees, just after I upgraded from my 8k. So for the future I see, Terabyte usb pens. Processors that are gauged in a way we dont understand right now, due to super conductivity which will make the transfer of data and energy almost instant, little tiny dishes that have a gain that equals a 2.4meter. Low energy, low radiation radio technology, cars that hover and ray guns ( I hope). chips

Ray Guns.. I need one of those for some of the street urchins around here! haha..You're absolutely right chips.. I preferred MS Works:tounge_smile: and i have 3 Spectrums & my Commodore 64 in the loft.. ..and!... my first 286 had a 20Mb Hard Disc which then was adequate for the program size.. Now for me it's getting ridiculous.. with software into Gb's in size that is akin to a virus because it wants to rule the World.. ..or at least rule my Pc! My prediction for the future.. Electronics will be replaced with Organics.. and then one day we arrive at the Human kind again.. ..and then we start all over again.. Food for thought..
