Samsung JTAG Problems

Hello,

I currently have a samsung smt-2100c which i want to JTAG to get the BK, I have built my own JTAG using "the simple Sammy tut" (the 74hc244 IC Board)
I have conneted all the cables to the 20Pin JTAG port in the box and checked all the connections with a Multimeter - there all ok. THere are no dry solder joints as i can see (again checked with MM) now when i run OCD commander it says "Error 43" in a dialoug box then in the OCD window it says "cable disconnected"

There are a few things i am unsure about

1. On the DB25 End of the JTAG the diagram says "Ground = Pin18 to 25"
Does this mean Pins 18 - 25 need to be connected together (as they are all ground) or is it ok how Ive done it, which is just connect Ground to Pin25?

2. Which end of the cable supplies the 5v VCC is it the DB25 or the JTAG end (tdi, tms, tdo, Gnd, Vcc) because im NOT getting any voltage in the JTAG Board from either end. (Could be the problem!)

3. When turning on the sammy, the tut says @ LD14 Hold Down for 5secs until LD20 then let go to enable DEBUG mode, At what piont after this do i start OCD _Com' going?

4. What does error 43 mean in OCD_Com' is it a software problem?

5. Could it be the BOX being faulty?

18 to 25 should be connected together and you press arrow down when the display reads ld03 and let go when it says ld14 then wait until the display shows 0 then the box is in dbug mode.

Thanks fo the reply,

Tried everything you said - to no avail

So i built another JTAG with a different circuit using the same IC
and this time i checked every joint that i made with a Multimeter to check they were ok.

Then i tried what you said, combined with what i already knew and bingo! all three apps i tried connected and worked perfectly.

Thnks again

now on to the next problem i reset the box and now the netid is 09999 and i cant change it. ive tried the funcard update method to set it but had no luck. How can i set the Netid with the JTAG? is their a tut for this? looked but i cant find anything.

Cheers in advance

Mick

If youre using bke2.2 then under tools go to jtag then macromaker, then input the relevant netid which you require and save the macro.

With SDT input all your netid details and then press the save macro OCD icon on the bottom with the picture of a disk and apply the same below.

Now close that down and get a program called OCD commander, when you connect your jtag again just press macro and select the file which you created and it should do it.

Make sure you have mac_mot running always.

What program did you use to create your fun files?
Which s/ware are you using to write your card and what proggy do you have?

I have found it easier to change the netid with a funcard or Atmega.
