Default What hard drive to buy and how to supress "no access" message

Hi, I just buy a Clark-Tech 5000HD combo and looking for interesting discussions.

Actually I have already first problem I want talk about.
1, what hard drive to buy for my receiver.?
2, I have annoying “no access” message from receiver.

My setup.
I have official conax card for provider 1 in card reader.
And I have Diablo CAM module with official viaccess card for provider 2.

Provider 2 encrypt in Conax, Irdeto and viaccess.
When I seer unscrambled channels from provider 2, then I get pictures with “no access” message on the screen. If I remove provider 2conax card from card reader then message disappear.

Any suggestions?

Yes as I've muttered elsewhere the 1.43p isn't good with big drives as far as I can see so the board which is more dedicated to Clarke that were crowing on about how good 1.43p at one stage all have baby drives or partitions for one reason or another. Not enough money I guess. I went for the biggest drive at the time which the CT supports which is 750Gb, that's what the Clarke Tech web site says.

The no access menu is going to be about... well I've often wondered about this one myself if I stick another card in the box's slot. You have provided the answer I think it doesn't handle two cards at the same time unless it's something to do with your Dragon.

Default clarke-tech HD 5000C

Its looks that Clarke can handle more then one card but not if both provides use same encryption( in my case Conax), then the error message “no access” appears on de-scrambled picture. I write before, that I can use :Western My Book Essential Edition 2.0 WDH1U5000 – Hard disk - 500 GB with ver. 138, but I start getting problems after recording some files and fill in pictures and mp3 files on it.

Krakow thanks for the information on using more than one card. At the minute I use the local provider card but think about using two cards in the future and yes they would be different so that would be fine.

I don't have problems with my Buffalo Turbo 750 GB USB drive with 1.38. I think you need strict discipline in not pulling out the USB cable whilst the CT is still switched on, stand bye is fine. If you get these problem due to the disk drive being pulled out before it's disconnected correctly then you can plug it into a laptop and do the properties and a scan. Toggling appropriate settings so that's like a fix disk. That always sorts it out for me. I think 1.38 may also do this for you now, the other versions didn't they would just leave the disk hanging with the light on but nothing happening. It could be that.

Saying I don't have problems with my drive I think Buffalo do put different manufactures drives in them. I think mine is a Western. Obviously Fat 32. I use the Buffalo format software option when setting it up.

Default Using power save panel

Hi Josh,
I use standby “electric panel” for my Audio-video set-up. When I turn Television OFF everything except power for television and Hard drive is switched OFF. This set-up works best (for hard drive recognition) if Clarke is in active mode (not standby).
Clarke use about 20W in standby mode and 30W in active mode I want save this energy. If I want to record then I turn ON additional load with is parallel with television so “ electric panel” not switch Clarke OFF when I turn Television OFF.
I have same experience as you with connecting Hard drive to a computer and then to Clarke again to fix “recognition problem”.

I have a "Trekstor DataStation m.u. 500 GB" with the firmware 138p today. It works perfectly for several months.

I frequent several forums. Many people complain of a malfunction of 143p, especially when recording. I did not want to try.

It's probably me under all my guises complaining since some people prefer to pretend that it's fine . I like the way they are talking about what's going to be in the next release over on that board, not that they know anything about these things . I'm a bit slow seeing why they wanted the three character support in the reader in 1.43p release, associated with the swap. I thought that was being done for the Brits and pasta lovers, not frankfurter lovers. I wondered why such effort had been put into this support given that they wouldn't have the cards and heaven forbid refuse to speak in English on that board if you speak in English.....

Looking at when they shift these releases out the next one is starting to become late now. It must be within circa 7 days at most unless they have really screwed things up since, a month max seems to be the limit. So end of the month for the next release I reckon. Hopefully it will solve the drive issue in 1.43.
