Default ITV HD on the CT5000 and CT5000C

Yes it's possible and here are the steps. Currently ITV HD has it's H.264 stream messed about with to stop FTA boxes picking it up, including Sk*'s own HD box in the UK, making it a unique service to Freesat when ITV HD launches. Heaven forbid a free channels that we can't receive

But arty: [I've emailed the solution to CT so they may publish it themselves]

For CT NDFEdit:

a. tune in so you get Brit Shorts etc as per normal

b. take a copy of NDF

c. goto transponder 11.428 H on Astra 2

d. Make name ITV HD

e. Set up channel

Service ID: 0x290e

Service Type TV

PMT PID [leave blank]

PCR PID: 0x0d49

Video PID: 0x4d49

Audio PID: 0x0d4a

Check Mark AC3

Lastly and most importantly check the box, "Don't Update Video / Audio PIDs"
f. download to box and enjoy .

Basically there seems to be a difference in what people get the box to do via other setting editors than the CT one and the PMT PID being left blank was important, whilst the don't update audio and video PIDs stops the box being knocked out I think by the H.222... I think.

I'm not a VIP for nothing, but sometime I wonder

There has been some discussion in some quarters so I understand, of how I did it. Basically I took the returned PPID and Audio PID off the radio channel that it had dropped in. Pulled these over out of the box and then went for the forced code approach on the video - my old DBox training. Then when it knocked out the video thought, it must be changing something to do this, so froze the PIDs via that menu option.

Little did I know that the PIDs had gone off world which I'm told is some HEX addition that has happened due to HD. So basically I took a combination of what was been said elsewhere about the settings although this seems to vary and explored a few options thinking that I was close when it shut down the video with sound after three seconds, not that I'd seen the video at that point but thought, fishey, we need to stop the box doing whatever it's doing. Try the lock PIDs since if the datastream is sending it off into non H.264 mode that might stop it. It did. .

Now all we want is some programmes.
