Default Clarke 5000-C help... Please.

Hi guys,
today I brought home the Clarke 5000hd-C...
It looks great and I like his recording ability but...
How I could load the K*y files?
With the 2100+ was a piece of cake... (Thanks to some "guru" that share those with us)...
Well with the 5000 I can load using usb firmware and settings... But no way to load the "others" files...
It doesn't show those "others" files in the data transfer menu too...
What I am doing wrong???
Help pleaseeeeee
Regards,
Fabiosky

Are you on the p version per chance ?. Don't forget that you have to give it special treatment if you try to downgrade from 1.38p or 1.43p to 1.35 p or not lower. The box will hang. I dealt with that on a thread and posted up the solution which I got from the motherland . I did do what I didn't want to do driven by the M2 Plus when I was searching for a solution [downgraded] and upgraded back again following the notes.

I woudn't play with the soft cam menu setting where it says off / on. Keep it on, off seems to make the box start rebooting at random and there have been other reports of the box rebooting. Mine was fine when I put it back to soft cam on.

1.38p works better with hard drives in my view than 1.43p which is problematic.

Keys can be imported via USB or RS232. USB is faster.

There is the TPS menu so if you want to experiment with guys on board with that feel free. Although my understanding was that there wasn't a fix for the CT5000 and TPS although all of this may have changed. I might not be up todate on this one. Others say TPS is going so I haven't invested too much time in it, more interested in sorting out 1'W.

Well,
first of all thank you a lot for your replies.
The main problem is that in the USB transfer window, i can't see the k*y file. Usually the Clarke should show a file list with the green button indication to load it in the receiver...
Well I don't have that green option...
Any further help?
Regards,
Fabio

Best to keep the multi cas on - the only time mine started rebooting by itself at random was when I had it turned off. It's odd that some people seem to find multi cas off.

Rumours.... there will be a new official version of the CT5000 software very soon, so you can assume that there will be a p version of that err, soon. I suspect one will have to go through the download ritual to load it up.

Thank you all guys!
Especially Siege and Josh!
Well now I am having fun with the new 5000Hd-C!
I have loaded GiorGio setting to see what changes but I think I will step back to normal settings.
As firmware I am using a OneThreeEight.p that seems working fine.
There is a OneFourThree but still too young so I am waiting.
I have another question: I did load the NDF file from the Ctech2100+ on the Ctech5000 and I have got the same channel configuration I am used to see...
When I let the Ctech5000 scan channels (using dual feed) I saw there were some new channels and HD channels in the list but not some of the others channels I have in the Ctech2100.
For example on the Ctech2100+ I have in the channel's list "Pre***r 1+" but in the new scan list of the Ctech5000 i don't have it anymore...
And if I load the 2100 channel's file on the 5000 and I run a scan I can't find Astra HD anymore...
What's wrong this time?? :-)
Regards,
Fab

Interesting.... the settings will contain the frequencies so it won't scan what hasn't been set up is my understanding, so say you only identifed certain transponders, I don't think it would find what wasn't on the list. I just use the settings editor on CT to twig from time to time, I'm a luddite and prefer to tune and enter transponder frequncies [and not cheet ]. You could use the manual tune and check to see whether by clicking through the transponders you see the one that the HD channel is on. If it isn't this then some other internal off set bit thingey will be set in HD and you won't be getting that coming across via an SD box.

1.38p is the most reliable I find with a hard drive, 1.43p isn't too well behaved with larger drives.
