Default Avchd > ct5000

I'm not ashamed to ask for help  but I'm looking for a like minded person who has converted AVCHD into MPEG2 HD and got it working. Herb2008 also known by another handle on other boards has. The German threads go on about using this software or that, but frankly there are so many parameters if you don't end up with the right ones then it isn't going to work.

Before we all scurry off on googles pick up your Sony or Panasonic HD camera that comes with AVCHD and start this process. It's too easy for someone without the kit to just list off what someone else has said.

Basically AVCHD is an MPEG4 standard and I suspect that it's not too far away from H.264. The CT5000 will play MPEG2 HD but you got to get the convertion software working correctly. I've been trying Elecard which is a nice program, but so far no luck in getting the correct parameters, it converts OK to MPEG2 HD. You need the 50i for starters. So many parameters on that software. The CT Movie convertor that I posted up written by [T][I] features in this since when you have the correct MPEG2 it will chump it up so the CT5000 will read it. I have ordered Corel ULead but I think I'll have the same issue of being lost in parameters.

So yes, if there are people out there that have done it....
