Really you need a rolling road to set it up. Without setting it correctly on a rolling road the chances are it will be DOWN on power over the original injection set up. Also you will need to fit a vaccum restrictor in the servo line or else it will kill your servo.
Also what year is the vehicle? If it is post 1992 you will not be able to get the emmissions low enough to pass the cat test. This will mean restoring the system to injection every year to get it MOT'd. I have helped a few people set their systems up but all have been a bit hit and miss and have ended up back on injection after not too long - that s probably why you picked up a set cheep!

hi delambo
thanks for reply i have had it on the rollers but i had a few problems when there 1 dodgy linkage 2 idle irratic 3 guy said fuel pumo should have been suction type developed 182 when there so i was slightly up on standard but for the fuel consumption was no really worth talking about when back from rollers i totaly overhalled the carbs ,upped the choke size to 40 mm, found a bearing missing in one end so that was my irratic idle prob the butterfly not returning to the same position every time bought new linkage and a red top fuel pump, i can now fully adjust the carbs so your right i need to go back to the rollers but im waiting on a throttle position sensor coming this week one get the car running 3d mapping i just wanted to know if there were any other gti6 owners out there with carbs prob more likely to be 205 owners thanks again kurt |
