Moved: problem with 158p

There is a problem with 158P (CT5000 HD). The same was reported under 155p and that is under Guide (EPG) I get [Null] sometimes. When I go back to 153p things are OK again .... so something changed there ....

No other real changes however .... I really miss adding changes under each firmware.

I may have moaned about the currently crappy software that is being released for the CT5000 somewhere else .

Some people on the German board keep moaning about signal strength of 2 percent ... derr no signal on that one.

There has been a reported EPG problem with the latter version of the p software. Unfortunately as far as I can see the programmers don't know what they are doing. I have a theory that the programmers were changed by CT at the start of 2007 and that is when things went wrong. It would have been better to have bunged extra money to whoever was doing before, than pay less to who's doing it now.

CT don't accept that there are problems with the software. Going the rounds last year was that it was due to CT getting a new line of boxes out and it would all be good once this had happened. It hasn't been, so it wasn't that.

Now I'm thinking should I have bought a Technomate since CT aren't supporting their products correctly at the moment and the p developers mess stuff up as much as the official releases which begs the Q what is the difference, except the extra software which gives you smartcam. Which is basically it.

The CT programmers want their arses kicked and CT doesn't seem to be capable of doing it right now, believing crap that the programmers tell them which they then feed out in emails if you write to them. The programmers are just useless in my humble view. Bring back the guys that did know what they were doing.
