C-Tech 5000 Hd problems

hi m8`s just wondering what code is for c-tech 5000 Hd to get to biss menu as 8280 is not working on this one receiver. As looking for some people to put biss keys and it wont work for my.

I'd offer help but afraid I don't bother with biss keys myself. You will be using one of the p versions of the software. I think the reason why biss won't be working will be that you don't have the p software loaded up !. From the factory it comes with the closed menu. There are p versions in the firmware section. I see Compass has filed 1.58p.

At the minute Clarke Tech, well for the last nine months or so has been producing rubbish software for the CT5000. A wide selection of drives have not been supported and with each release it gets worse. So I wouldn't recommend 1.58p myself. 1.38p was about the most stable and dates to about March. After that you might be lucky that you have a drive that functions correctly with the software. I use a nested set of hubs to get over the issue, but since the November release even that doesn't work. Gone back to 1.51p and two hubs to make my Buffalo 750 GB drive power up and down as it should.

Clarke Tech are in heavy denial about the issues choosing to swing the blame onto Korea and forgetting that nine months ago their software actually worked. The German CT board is also in denial about the issues choosing to burn posters up that say there are issues. Bottom line is that CT will go out of business if they don't get their act together.

So bottom line, load up a selection of p versions of the software from 1.38p on and find the one that works the best with your drive. 8280 does work, least with 1.51p that I have in my box since I checked.

You need to load this before 8282 will work as Josh already told you m8..

I currently spend four hours a day commuting so that's my excuse for not reading the rules as to whether to mention other boards. The German hobbyist home of the box you can find if you Google Clarke-Tech Corner Datenbank. It's in the "Datenbank" where all of the CT software is filed both for p and regular software. All nicely Germanically filed. It's all in German so you'll be back unless you speak German and you need to register. It's possible that there may be an omission of what's in the history here, although you do have to extend the thread search here from the defaults. Saying that most has been posted here but it's mixed in with other CT boxes in the threads.

I currently use a Diablo Light CAM [the latest] and don't really relay on the p software, but it serves as back up when things go wrong as do the other CAMs and cards....
